INTERVENTION

Our philosophy is that intervention is an act of compassion that begins to heal the pain caused by alcoholism and/or addiction. It is a coordinated process, not a single event, which helps individuals and families begin to change. It culminates in an empathetic meeting with the chemically dependent to encourage treatment and begin a healing process for everyone involved.

PLANNING AND PRE-INTERVENTION:

Intervent recognizes that individuals and families afflicted with active chemical dependency have been living with stress, pain, and confusion. We strive to compassionately educate the concerned parties about the disease in order to reframe their relationship to the addict, so that healing and change may begin.
Our first contact is to meet with the concerned party and begin to assess their unique situation and the family system in relationship to the dependent. We instruct the family and supporters in the process of the intervention, and assign their roles in it. We will explore and address any possible aspect of resistance to ensure a positive outcome.Together, we help to select the services that the chemically dependent person may require, based on an assessment of needs that include detox protocol, medical and mental health, along with financial/insurance capabilities.

TREATMENT COORDINATION:

  • Select treatment type, i.e., In-patient, outpatient, or detox.
  • Select treatment facility, i.e., hospital or private and if it follows along with client’s insurance plan.
  • Plans analysis of family system and how a person will react with family members illness.
  • Assess whether family needs on-going counseling, or marital therapy.
